The dug dug on the older Royal Enfield bikes plays a crucial role in attracting a lot of customers, so here’s the video of the exhaust note of the upcoming 450cc Royal Enfield adventure bike.
The Himalayan 450 thankfully, doesn’t seem (or should we say sound?) to disappoint in this department. It sounds throaty and gruff, something that we generally associate with free-revving single-cylinder engines, but also has a tinge of sweet intake whine. And while it sounds relaxed and smooth, it’s not as laidback as the lazy thumping noise we’ve heard from the long-stroke Royal Enfield Himalayan.

So the Himalayan 450 will likely pack a punchy motor, premium underpinnings, a throaty exhaust, will look rugged, along with a swanky new instrument cluster. Sounds exciting, eh? That’s exactly why we want Royal Enfield to get it right. The bike’s expected to be launched in mid this year at a price tag of around Rs 2.80 lakh (ex-showroom). It’ll then go up against the KTM 390 Adventure and the upcoming Hero XPulse 400.
