Royal Enfield Reveals Introductory Price List For New Himalayan, Starts At INR 2.69 Lakhs – The Indian Wire

Most of us know what city life is, but what about the adventures that we have always thought of? What is stopping us from exploring more? The terrain? Well, no more, as the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 has finally made its debut with a price tag starting at just Rs.2.69 Lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). Learn more about Royal Enfield’s latest addition to the lineup below.
To begin with, the new Himalayan is 2245mm in length, 852mm wide, 1316mm in terms of height and features a 1510mm long wheelbase. Since it can take on any terrain, the manufacturer has specifically worked on ground clearance, and it measures 230mm with a seat height adjustment option. Royal Enfield claims that the seat can be adjusted from 805mm to 825mm, which is a decent range for adjustments.
The fuel tank capacity of the new bike stands at 17 litres, and it weighs around 196 kilograms in total (kerb weight).
While the new Himalayan 450 is more about ruggedness and less about gizmos, the bike manufacturer has equipped it decently with modern features. To be precise, the new generation bike now features a 4-inch fully digital rider’s display that uses a TFT display. Thankfully, this panel is now enabled with smartphone connectivity offering a seamless experience for navigation. There is even a USB Type-C port available to charge your phone.
Unlike the outgoing model, the 2024 Himalayan features a 451.65cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with DOHC technology onboard. The result is this bike now produces 40.02 horsepower and 40Nm of peak torque while being paired to a 6-speed gearbox. Making the shifting experience smoother is the availability of the slip and assist clutch, making it a feature-loaded bike to handle everything that comes its way.
Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 also features two ride modes, including Eco and Performance.
For absorbing shocks from any kind of surface, it features a 43mm USD fork at the front. At the back, the adventure motorcycle features a linkage-type monoshock unit with 200mm wheel travel. The brakes available on the Himalayan 450 are 320mm and 270mm discs at the front and the rear, respectively. To ensure riders’ safety, it works in conjunction with a dual-channel ABS, which is again switchable.
*The introductory price offer lasts till December 31, 2023.
Along with the Indian market, the new Himalayan is all set to make its global debut as well. Royal Enfield has announced that the bike will cost £5750 in the UK and €5900 across Europe.
