Bayern Munich star Leon Goretzka never considered transfer through troubled summer – Bavarian Football Works

There might not be another player on Bayern Munich’s roster who Thomas Tuchel has attempted to stifle and crush as much as Leon Goretzka.
From the moment Tuchel took over, it seems as if Goretzka become the recipient of the coach’s ire. The criticism of the Germany international carried over from last season, through the summer, and into this season, which culminated with Tuchel opting to start Konrad Laimer over Goretzka to start the season.
As things progressed, though, Goretzka eventually won his job back and is having a good season. Still, enduring all of that might have prompted some players to look to transfer last summer.
Goretzka indicated that he never considered a move.
“No, looking back, it was a very good decision on my part. I was 100% convinced that I could help the team this season. I insisted on that,” Goretzka told ZDF sportstudio (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Goretzka has had a very solid season, but the specter of the January transfer window still looms. With Tuchel still clamoring for a No. 6 midfielder, Goretzka could find himself on the outside looking-in once more.
