Is Pep Guardiola going to get his way with a midfielder again?
Joshua Kimmich, while talented, is no longer untouchable at Bayern Munich and he has even begun exploring the possibility of a transfer away from the Rekordmeister, exacerbated by a fallout with Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel. The 28-year-old is currently on the radar of a certain Manchester City and Pep Guardiola.
According to talkSPORT (via Express), the Citizens are ready to launch a bid for the Bayern number six (which he claims to be, but this is open to interpretation). Pep’s side are not in their usual clinical form, finding themselves some way off the pace and sitting in the Europa League spot. The reported exit of former Leeds United holding midfielder Kalvin Phillips, whom Bayern were interested in, necessitated the look for another CDM.
As things stand, City is considering a Phillips-Kimmich swap deal to appease all parties involved. Bayern, however, might not be ready to let Kimmich go just yet.
