Bayern Munich won their 11th straight Bundesliga title in dramatic fashion on the final day of the season.
Borussia Dortmund were on the cusp of winning the Bundesliga despite losing at home to Mainz until Jamal Musiala scored a winning goal for Bayern in the 89th minute.
Rivals Borussia Dortmund went into today’s action with a two-point lead over Bayern Munich but Mainz upset the odds to help the holders retain their trophy.

Mid-table Mainz raced into a two-goal lead inside the first half with Andreas Hanche-Olsen and Karim Onisiwo scoring within the first 24 minutes.
Sebastien Haller had the chance to level the scoring from the penalty spot in the 19th minute but his effort was saved.
Dortmund could have been given another penalty when Aaron Martin appeared to barge Raphael Guerreiro but referee Marco Fritz waved away appeals.
Guerreiro ended up scoring to make it 2-1 and Niklas Sule equalised in the 96th minute but it was not enough for Dortmund, who lost out on the title on goal difference.
Bayern had opened the scoring against Cologne after just eight minutes with Kingsley Coman getting on the scoresheet to pile pressure on Borussia Dortmund.
However Cologne levelled the scoreline through a Dejan Ljubicic penalty with 10 minutes to switch the pendulum back in Dortmund’s favour.
But Musiala proved to be the matchwinner with minutes remaining to ensure Bayern hung on to their title.
Thomas Tuchel has become a Bundesliga-winning manager for the first time in his career having previously steered Dortmund to second and third spot during his two seasons at Signal Iduna Park.
Tuchel was brought in to replace Julian Nagelsmann in March when Bayern were a point behind Dortmund.
Dortmund headed into the final matchday of the league campaign with a two-point advantage over their fellow contenders and knowing a win would see them crowned champions but they failed at the final hurdle.
Jude Bellingham was tearful at the final whistle after failing to get on the pitch due to a knee injury despite being named on the subs’ bench.
Meanwhile, Bayern chief executive Oliver Kahn, who didn’t make the trip to Cologne, and sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic have been dismissed from their roles despite the club’s latest title win. Jan-Christian Dreesen will replace Kahn.
