One chance created, generally good use of the ball, plus a couple of successful dribbles and recoveries for Jude Bellingham during his 76 minutes for Real before being replaced by Luka Modric.
Not his most impactful night but also questionable whether he was at 100 per cent fit.

Bayern make their second change as Thomas Muller's 150th career UCL appearance comes to a close.
In his stead comes Serge Gnabry, who Tuchel predicted would score tonight.

Modric plays a lovely pass over the Bayern defence to release Vinicius Jr down the left wing. The Brazilian darts into the box but Neuer successfully makes himself big to deny him from a tight angle.

A double sub for Ancelotti as Luka Modric and Brahim Diaz replace Toni Kroos and Jude Bellingham.
Bellingham may not have been able to go the full 90 minutes today after missing Madrid's game at the weekend due to illness.

Kroos' delivery on the free kick is less than stellar, allowing Bayern to clear the danger.
A rare point of criticism amidst a stellar performance by the German tonight.

Bayern win a pair of corners, putting Madrid under pressure. The visitors haven't looked comfortable defending corners for some time now, Barcelona also exploited their weakness in El Clasico nine days ago.

Kane has a shot from close range deflected, the ball rolling across the face of goal and just barely missing the far post.
Moments later Dier has a great chance with a powerful header from close range, but his effort goes straight to Lunin.

Obviously Tuchel switching the wingers has been very effective but the introduction of Guerreiro has been crucial too.
His run distracted Vazquez enough to put him in a bad position and body shape for the penalty foul.

After Bayern's second goal, Ancelotti gestured to Kroos to switch to a 4-3-3. The German didn't understand him and went to the touchline to talk to Carlo and Davide Ancelotti.

Well, I was in the middle of writing an observation about possession and how Real Madrid were so clearly looking to control this second half.
For the record, having had 48% of the first-half possession, Real were on 62% for the opening six minutes of the second half – of course, very early but still a notable change.
Then you get a moment of inspiration from Leroy Sane, the whole dynamic of the game changes and suddenly Bayern lead with two goals in five minutes.
As ever, it's not all about how much you have of the ball – and always about what you do with it.

I had mentioned before that Lucas Vazquez is not a natural defender, and his trip on Musiala was not a natural defender's challenge…

Leroy Sane’s Bayern career needed that. I’m not sure he’s ever been fully embraced since arriving and he has rarely produced in the moments when – historically – Robben or Ribery could be depended upon to deliver.
But that’s huge. Score level, ego inflated.
