– Spy shots give a clearer look at the round LCD console
– Gets bigger disc brakes and a new suspension setup
– Official launch expected around September-October
After the launch of the Super Meteor 650, the Himalayan 450 is now one of the most awaited Royal Enfield motorcycles this year. The Chennai-based brand has been testing the bike rigorously and the test mules have been spotted on multiple occasions. While we have already told you all that we know about the bike, a new set of spy shots have surfaced on the internet giving away some more details.
One of the top-angle pictures of the Himalayan 450 reveals that it boasts a muscular fuel tank but it tapers quite a bit at the rear to make it easier for the rider to lock in their knees. Also, the handlebar is pretty wide which should give good leverage while the seat is a split-type unit. Moreover, the bike also incorporates a sturdy-looking rear luggage rack and the Himalayan’s signature jerry can holders at the front.
The new spy shots also give us a clearer look at the round LCD instrument cluster that sits behind the sizeable windscreen. This console will certainly have a lot of information on display. The motorcycle is also expected to get other modern features like Bluetooth connectivity and a slipper clutch. As for the hardware, although the bike apparently rides on a similar 21-17-inch spoke wheel combination as the existing Himalayan, the suspension setup is different with USD front forks and a monoshock and the front disc brake also looks bigger.
We’ll get more details about the upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 as we get closer to its official launch which is expected to take place around September-October this year.
