Thomas Müller’s claim after beating PSG: “It always goes well against Messi, Cristiano was the problem…” – AS USA

The elimination of Paris Saint Germain from the Champions League has rung loud around not just France but the entire world. Inevitably, one of the most mentioned topics concerns is the millions of dollars the Parisian club have invested: money that is not seeing equal rewards. Much is also being said about the performance of Kylian Mbappé, considered by many to be one of the best in the world today. The other half of the talk is of Lionel Messi, the star signing of Al-Khelaifi. Much was expected of him after leading Argentina to the World Cup in Qatar.
This time, however, Bayern Munich won. Specifically, after the game, Thomas Muller was the man with the biggest grin of them all. The German was not shy when asked about handling Messi and his side, even boasting that he always does well against the Argentinian. He did not, however, say the same about Cristiano Ronaldo: “Against Messi, things always go well at all levels in terms of results. At club level, Cristiano Ronaldo was our problem when he was at Real Madrid”, he admitted.
Of course, the striker did not hesitate to show respect to Messi, saying that he has “the greatest respect for Messi’s performance in the World Cup”. Müller himself was the man of the tie in Munich, and was named MVP. At 33, he has another chance to continue to add to his already huge legacy in Europe. In the Champions League at the Allianz Arena, it wasn’t Neymar, nor Messi, nor Mbappé who shone… the king was Müller.
