Pratik Bhanushali
– Powered by a 450cc, liquid-cooled engine
– Will rival the KTM 390 Adventure
– Equipped with LED illumination and a fully digital instrument console
The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 has been spotted testing again after its recent sighting in April. The test mule was seen in the city, and here’s what we know about the upcoming Royal Enfield ADV.
Royal Enfield has given the Himalayan 450 a fairly tall stance with an upright but relaxed rider triangle. The handlebar is quite high and the rider sits upright with the footpegs neutrally set. There’s a split seat setup with a small top box rack as well. Royal Enfield will use a 450cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor and it’ll be mated to a six-speed gearbox.
The Himalayan 450 gets full LED illumination and a single-pod instrument console, which will house a speedometer, odometer, trip meter, fuel level readout, and other essential readings. On the hardware front, it’ll feature Showa USD front forks and a monoshock and the braking hardware will comprise a single front and rear disc with ABS. The brakes are mounted on spoked wheels wrapped in dual-purpose tyres.
The Himalayan 450 has been under development for a while now and seems to be going under extensive testing. Royal Enfield is betting big on this product and is expecting to captivate the ADV landscape in India. This is considering the Himalayan 450 will be a proper off-roading offering and fill the gap by a large margin.
Once launched, the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 will rival the KTM 390 Adventure, BMW G 310 GS, Yezdi Adventure, and more.
