The coaching staff of PSG have been notified by Neymar that he intends to quit the team this summer.
The forward reportedly notified PSG chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi of his wish to leave the French capital on Sunday, as per a report from L’Equipe.
The report claims the 31-year-old Brazilian international has become more dissatisfied at PSG and is keen to complete a spectacular return to Barcelona before the transfer window closes.
Earlier in May, when irate PSG supporters assembled around his Paris home to request that he depart, the club issued a statement denouncing the behaviour of its fans.
Paris Saint-Germain issued an announcement saying, “Paris Saint-Germain most strongly condemns the intolerable and insulting actions of a small group of individuals that took place on Wednesday.”
Neymar is alleged to have been inspired by the event to want to leave the club, feeling ‘exposed’ in Paris in a way he never had before when playing for Barcelona.
Before signing a record-breaking contract to join PSG in 2017, Neymar played four seasons at Camp Nou, where he won two LaLiga championships and the Champions League.
The Brazilian went on to contribute significantly to PSG’s success in the years that followed, scoring 82 goals in 112 Ligue 1 games and winning five league championships.
Injury setbacks have frequently curtailed his participation, and in his six years at the club, he has only once succeeded in making more than 20 league games in a single season.
To prevent departing on a free transfer, PSG are determined that Mbappe will sign a new deal if he leaves the Parc des Princes, therefore he is presently training away from Luis Enrique’s first team squad.
During the summer, the 24-year-old was given an unbelievable £600 million offer to sign a one-year contract with Al-Hilal, but he subsequently declined the chance to meet with the representatives of the Saudi Pro League team.
