PSG emerged victorious after a thrilling penalty shootout session in Stade Michel Bendichou in Colomiers against Matt Beard’s Liverpool.
At the break, PSG were in front, courtesy of an exceptional play by the 21-year-old Jade Le Guilly. The youngster seized the ball from Miri Taylor and skillfully dribbled past an opponent before firing a powerful 25-meter left-footed shot.
Liverpool’s substitute, Natasha Flint, brought the game level in minute 57 after passing between two defenders and slotting the ball into the back of the net.
Head Coach Gérard Prêcheur opted not to use Sakina Karchaoui, Grace Geyoro, Jackie Groenen, and Lieke Martens in the match, as they had only joined the team a couple of days ago, following their participation in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Ramona Bachmann, the Swiss international was brought into the game at half-time and the newly signed Aïssatou Tounkara was in the starting eleven.
The Reds captain Niamh Fahey featured in the starting eleven, while Fuka Nagano played the last 15 minutes.
