Triumph Speed 400 on-road prices to be released on 10 July – BikeWale

Triumph Motorcycles India and Bajaj Auto have released an official statement about the recent controversy surrounding the on-road prices of the newly launched Triumph Speed 400. In the statement, the two manufacturers said that they have not released any on-road price guidelines. The company further added that the state-specific ex-showroom and on-road prices will be released closer to the delivery.
The statement said:
At Bajaj Auto Ltd., we are committed to our customers and follow the highest standards of transparency, including pricing. We would urge all our customers and media to ignore the rumours doing rounds across various public and social media platforms related to the on-road pricing of the new Triumph Speed 400. The company has not released any on-road price guidelines and the same would be in line with its other products and industry norms. This will be issued by 10th July. 
The Speed 400 has been launched at an ex-showroom price, Delhi at INR 2.23 lakh for the first 10,000 customers, post which it will move to its regular price at INR 2.33 lakh. State-specific ex-showroom and on-road pricing will be released closer to delivery.
The new Triumph Speed 400 will be manufactured by Bajaj Auto at its plant in Maharashtra, India. This has allowed the British brand to price this product competitively. The new Speed 400 boasts a neo-retro design that draws styling cues from bigger-displacement Triumph products, such as the Speed Twin 900 and Speed Twin 1200. This sub-500cc motorcycle from the British brand uses a 398.15cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that delivers a maximum output of 39.5bhp at 8,000rpm and a peak torque of 37.5Nm at 6,500rpm.
This motorcycle rivals the likes of the Harley-Davidson X440, Royal Enfield Classic 350, Jawa 42, and Yezdi Roadster in the Indian market.
