Aprilia has officially unveiled the RS 457 in India. It’s the most affordable motorcycle from the brand for India and here’s what we know about it. 
The new RS 457 has been inspired by the RS 660 and the RSV4. So, it gets the same split LED headlights topped by a transparent visor. For better aerodynamics, the RS 457 gets small fin-like vents on the side fairings, below the handlebar. Owing to its track-ready nature, the RS 457 is a proper supersport motorcycle with a committed rider stance. So, its footpegs are rear seat, the clip-ons are low, and you’d sit crouched at the front. Aprilia has offered the new RS 457 in three paint options. 
Aprilia has powered the RS 457 with a 457cc, twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. It gets a 270-degree crank that produces 47bhp and comes mated to a six-speed gearbox. Then, there’s also an optional quickshifter for clutchless upshifts. The list of rider aids includes ride-by-wire, switchable three-level traction control, ride modes, and ABS. All these bits are monitored on a five-inch TFT screen that benefits from smartphone connectivity. 
The hardware setup for the new Aprilia RS 457 includes adjustable USD front forks and a monoshock. The braking setup comprises a front and rear disc with ABS, mounted on 17-inch wheels shod with TVS Protorq Extreme tyres. 
Aprilia India will reveal the pricing very soon and we expect it to be above Rs. 4 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will rival the KTM RC 390, BMW 310 R, TVS Apache RR 310, and the Kawasaki Ninja 300 and 400.
