The all-new Harley Davidson X440 is a made-In-India, mass-market Harley that will compete against the likes of the Royal Enfield Classic 350, the Honda H’ness CB350, and of course, the Jawa 42 2.1. In this video, we tell you more about its mechanicals, the motorcycles it will compete with, and why you should wait for this motorcycle.

The Harley Davidson X440 is the first motorcycle to come out of the Hero-Harley partnership and will be joined by a Hero derivative soon after. The motorcycle features a neo-retro roadster styling with a round LED headlamp, a teardrop fuel tank and a flat tail section with a single-piece saddle.
The X440 features cycle parts that are on par with the segment. Sure, it gets USD forks up front, but the rear makes do with twin gas-charged shock absorbers. It rides on an 18/17-inch alloy wheels setup front and back, wrapped with MRF rubber. Stopping power comes from disc brakes at both ends, while dual-channel ABS will be standard.
Now, although the exact power figures aren’t out yet, what we do know is that the motorcycle will be powered by a 440cc single-cylinder, air-cooled motor with oil cooling. This one will be a long-stroke engine that is likely to produce around 30bhp and nearly 35Nm of peak torque. That said, it isn’t confirmed whether the Harley Davidson X440 will get a five-speed gearbox or a six-speed unit.
The X440 will be launched in India on 4th July at Hero’s technology centre in Jaipur. Given that the competition like the Royal Enfield Classic 350 and the Honda H’ness CB350 top out at around Rs. 2.20 lakh (ex-showroom), we expect the X440 to start at a price tag of close to Rs. 2.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
