Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 spotted testing in India – BikeWale

Pratik Bhanushali
– Gets an upright but relaxed rider triangle
– Is equipped with LED illumination
– India launch soon
Royal Enfield seems to be putting extra hours at work with all its upcoming motorcycles. The Super Meteor 650 was spotted recently and now the upcoming Himalayan 450 test mule too has made its appearance again in India. Here’s what you should expect.
It’s very evident that the upcoming ADV from Royal Enfield will be extensively updated when compared to the current Himalayan. Its rider triangle seems quite upright but relaxed. The overall design makes the bike look quite big and even more off-road friendly. That said, it’s also set to retain the touring essence from the current Himalayan.
From our exclusive stories over the past few months, the motor details too have been leaked. Royal Enfield will power the new Himalayan with a liquid-cooled, single-cylinder 450cc engine that could belt out 40bhp and 45Nm. Even the hardware on the Himalayan 450 is much more sophisticated. It gets USD front forks and an offset long travel rear shock. The test mule rides on a 21-inch front and a 17-inch rear spoked wheels with disc brakes at both ends and dual-channel ABS.
The Himalayan 450 even gets full LED illumination and an updated instrument cluster. We expect it to feature the Tripper Navigation too, like the current lineup.
While the bike has been spotted a few times now and appears ready for production, you can expect Royal Enfield to launch it by early 2023. Once launched, it’ll have the KTM 390 Adventure, Yezdi Adventure and the BMW G 310 GS in its crosshair.
