Suvil Susvirkar
– Will be based on the 450cc platform
– Likely to feature a bikini fairing and rear seat cowl
– Launch details unavailable yet
Royal Enfield is working on a wide range of motorcycles that would be based on the company’s existing and new platforms. Among the list of upcoming platforms is the 450 series that will underpin the new Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and its roadster version. We have already seen both motorcycles in the past through spy pictures. Now, an official document has revealed a new product that will use this platform.
This new motorcycle will be based on the 450cc roadster and it will feature café-racer styling. The finer details about the styling are not available. However, the silhouette indicates that this motorcycle will feature a bikini fairing and a rear seat cowl. Further, similar to the company’s 450cc roadster, this café-racer, too, will get alloy wheels that would come wrapped in tubeless tyres. Being a café-racer, this motorcycle will use a clip-on style handlebar for sportier ergonomics.
The mechanical specifications should be similar to the Himalayan 450. As reported earlier, the 450cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine on the Himalayan 450 will deliver a maximum output of 40bhp and a peak torque of 45Nm. We expect to see similar numbers on the café-racer as well. The hardware, similar to the Himalayan 450, should include upside-down front forks, rear mono-shock, and disc brakes on both wheels.
The Indian launch details for this motorcycle are not available. However, we do not expect to see this model in the near future.
