Royal Enfield Sherpa 650: What do we know so far? – BikeWale

The 650cc, twin-cylinder motor from Royal Enfield has witnessed excellent success globally. The P-platform engine does duties on the likes of the Interceptor 650, Continental GT 650 and the Super Meteor 650. The same motor will also power the upcoming Interceptor-based scrambler, the Royal Enfield Sherpa 650. Here’s everything you need to know about the Sherpa 650. 
Spy images have revealed that the Sherpa 650 will feature a fully digital, single-pod instrument cluster. The console will be similar to the one that the upcoming Himalayan 450 will get, which is unlike the instrument clusters found on the Super Meteor 650, Interceptor 650, or even the Hunter 350. Then, the motorcycle will get an LED headlamp, dual-channel ABS, an LED taillight and rotary switchgear. The accessories list will include touring mirrors, saddle bags with panniers, and a sturdy tail rack.
The Royal Enfield Sherpa 650 will be powered by a 648cc, parallel-twin engine that will pump out 46.3bhp at 7,250rpm and a peak torque of 52.3Nm at 5,650rpm. The motor will be paired with a six-speed gearbox.
The latest spy pictures have revealed that the motorcycle will ride on MRF Nylorex-X block-pattern tyres. These tyres look similar in design to that of the Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR. The Sherpa 650 is expected to feature a 19-inch spoke wheel up front and a 17-inch spoke wheel at the rear. Suspension tasks will be performed by upside-down forks at the front and twin shocks at the back. On the other hand, the motorcycle will drop anchors with the help of disc brakes at both ends.
The Sherpa 650 is likely to be launched in India in mid-2024 and is expected to be priced at around Rs. 3.25 lakh (ex-showroom). When launched, it will rival the Moto Morini Seiemmezzo 650 Scrambler.
