The Triumph Speed 400 and the Harley-Davidson X440 are as different as chalk and cheese, but they are priced similarly and operate in the same modern-retro motorcycle segment as the Royal Enfield Classic 350. Now, we have tested the Speed 400 and the X440, and in this video, Suvil Susvirkar and Vikrant Singh tell you which one of these should you buy. And whether or not Royal Enfield should be worried.

Now, since Suvil tested the Triumph Speed 400 and Vikrant reviewed the Harley-Davidson X440, both of them list out the positives and negatives of each motorcycle. And, based on these pros and cons, we weigh each motorcycle against one another on parameters like design and quality, engine performance, features, ride and handling, and of course pricing as well. Based on this, we tell you which motorcycle suits what kind of a rider, and which one he/she should buy.
To give you a recap, the Speed 400 uses a short-stroke, 398.15cc, liquid-cooled, four-valve motor that pushes out 39.5bhp and 37.5Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated to a six-speed gearbox. On the flip side, the X440 draws power from a long-stroke, 440cc, oil-cooled, two-valve motor that pumps out 27bhp and 38Nm of peak torque. Like the Speed 400’s motor, the engine on the X440, too, is paired with a six-speed gearbox.
The Triumph Speed 400 is available in a single variant that is priced at Rs. 2.33 lakh (ex-showroom). On the other hand, the Harley-Davidson X440 is available in three variants and is priced in the range of Rs. 2.29 lakh to Rs. 2.69 lakh (ex-showroom).
