2023 Honda CB300R: What else can you buy? – BikeWale

Anuj Mishra
Honda recently launched the 2023 OBD2-compliant version of the CB300R in India. Apart from executing emission-curbing changes in its engine, the Japanese bike maker also reduced the price of the bike by Rs. 37,000. Now, with a price tag of Rs. 2.40 lakh, the motorcycle is a more attractive package than before. However, if you still want to consider alternatives in a similar price range, here are your options.
Harley-Davidson X440: Rs 2.40 – 2.80 lakh
If you want a motorcycle that leans on the retro side of things more than the CB300R, the Harley-Davidson X440 is a great option. It boasts a unique power-cruiser design and runs on a torquey 440cc engine that produces 27bhp and 38Nm. Also, it offers the bragging rights of being associated with a legendary American motorcycle brand, Harley-Davidson. However, do remember that the waiting period for the X440 is currently quite long.
Triumph Speed 400: Rs 2.33 lakh
The Triumph Speed 400 is another attractive alternative to the CB300R. It is powered by a bigger and more powerful 398.15cc, liquid-cooled engine that makes 39.5bhp and 37.5Nm. Moreover, it’s a handsome-looking motorcycle with a level of fit and finish that matches the bigger and more expensive Triumph offerings. The only shortcoming is that most people find it way too compact for a 400cc motorcycle.
TVS Apache RTR 310: Rs. 2.43 – 2.64 lakh
For people who are fond of modern features and technology, the TVS Apache RTR 310 would be the best bet. It has enough electronic goodies to outdo the segment leader, KTM 390 Duke which, in itself, is a tech-heavy offering. The Apache gets a TFT screen, traction control, cruise control, and bi-directional quick shifter, among other nifty features. What’s more, powering the bike is the Apache RR310-derived 312cc, liquid-cooled that’s good for 35.08bhp and 28.7Nm. Interestingly, buyers can also opt for adjustable suspension by paying extra.
KTM 250 Adventure: Rs 2.47 lakh
Riders who like to go on two-wheeled explorations can consider the KTM 250 Adventure. With long-travel suspension, a 19-inch front wheel, and decent ground clearance, the motorcycle can handle rough stuff with ease. It can also be a good touring companion with its 248cc, liquid-cooled motor feeling unstrained even at speeds above 100kmph. Not to forget, KTMs are affordable to maintain despite boasting premium components.
