Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 specs leaked ahead of launch on 1 Nov – The Financial Express

The upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 has been making quite a lot of noise ahead of its launch scheduled for 1 November, 2023. The new Himalayan has been in development for a very long time and has often been spied testing in recent months. Ahead of its official launch, specs of the upcoming Himalayan have been leaked on the internet.
A leaked homologation document suggests that the latest avatar of the adventure tourer will commercially be called Himalayan 452 and not Himalayan 450. This indicates the new engine displacement– precisely 451.65cc. The homologation document mentions that the new single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected motor can generate a peak power of 39.5 bhp at 8,000 rpm.
This is a big jump over the existing Himalayan 411 with a peak power output of 24 bhp. While the output is higher, it is also noticeable that peak power is made a lot higher in the rev range. While the torque figures haven’t been revealed, we expect it to be somewhere between 40 and 45 Nm, ensuring a good low-end ride. The engine will be mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
The document further mentions that the upcoming Himalayan has a gross vehicle weight 394 kg. Considering a payload capacity of around 180 kg, the bike is expected to have a kerb weight of around 210 kg, which makes it 11 kilos heavier than the current Himalayan.
Other notable dimensions include a massive 1510mm wheelbase, 45mm longer than the outgoing model; width of 852mm, length of 2245mm, and height of 1316mm in its standard form. Therefore, the new Himalayan is bigger in every aspect, other than its height.
The new Himalayan will be underpinned by an all-new trellis frame— a first for a Royal Enfield— which sits on upside down front forks and a rear monoshock. Braking duties will be carried out by front and rear disc brakes aided by dual-channel ABS as standard with switchable rear ABS. The ADV will roll on 21-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wheels wrapped in all-purpose tyres.
